At Gateway Community Charters (GCC), we're dedicated to connecting, informing, and celebrating our amazing community. Our mission is to keep everyone in the loop with the latest news, events, and updates while supporting our schools in communicating effectively with students, parents, and the community. We believe in transparency, engagement, inclusivity, and empowerment, ensuring our communications are open, meaningful, and representative of our diverse voices. Julia Jimenez Yamamoto (She/Her/Ella)
Communications Specialist at Gateway Community Charters
Julia Jimenez is a dedicated communications specialist focused on enhancing public relations at Gateway Community Charter Schools. In her current role, she develops and implements communication strategies, manages social media presence, and creates engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences.
Julia's background includes significant experience in higher education and administrative support, but her true passion lies in communications. Since joining Gateway in March 2023, she has successfully led initiatives that increased community engagement and improved the organization's visibility. Julia is deeply passionate about working with and mentoring students, having done so extensively with young adults in higher education and continuing this important work at Gateway Community Charter Schools.
With a bachelor's degree in sociology from California State University, Sacramento, Julia brings a thoughtful and informed perspective to her work. Her sociology background gives her a deep understanding of social dynamics and cultural diversity, which she integrates into her approach to communications, ensuring that all voices are heard and represented.
When not at work, Julia enjoys spending quality time with her husband, who is a middle school teacher. She looks forward to continuing to tell Gateway's story and capturing the exciting activities happening at Gateway Community Charter Schools.

Amelia Carrillo (she/her)
Communications College Intern
Amelia is Gateway Community Charters's college intern, assisting the communications team in amplifying and unifying Gateway's voice. Her duties include utilizing and applying effective marketing strategies, creating visually engaging graphic designs, and taking the lead on social media management. She is currently in her final year at California State University, Sacramento, and is thrilled to earn her bachelor's degree in Communications this coming Spring 2025. Passionate about her field, Amelia is dedicated to gaining practical experience and making significant contributions to Gateway's communications efforts.
When Amelia is not at the GCC Central Office, she works as a barista at Starbucks, or stays home exploring the world of The Legend of Zelda on her Nintendo Switch.
