At Gateway Community Charters (GCC), we are committed to putting students first. Every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and set up for success — no matter their circumstances.

Our Commitment to Students

Students experiencing homelessness or foster care may face barriers that affect their education. Our goal is to remove those barriers and create a stable, welcoming school experience where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Meet Our Liaison

Our Student Services Coordinator, Nicole Strobel, serves as the Homeless and Foster Youth Liaison for GCC. Nicole works closely with students, families, and school staff to ensure that every student has access to the resources and support they need.

What the Liaison Does

Nicole’s role focuses on being a dedicated advocate for our students by:

  • Ensuring Access to Education – Helping students enroll quickly, stay connected to school, and participate fully in programs and activities.
  • Connecting Students with Resources – Coordinating access to meals, school supplies, clothing, transportation, and counseling services.
  • Supporting Stability and Success – Working with teachers, administrators, caregivers, and community partners to provide consistent support.
  • Raising Awareness – Training staff and sharing information about the rights and needs of homeless and foster youth.
