This page is your go-to resource for professional learning opportunities offered in both in-person and virtual settings before and after school. Sessions are led by our Professional Learning Coaches, Instructional Coaches, and experts in their field, providing valuable strategies and insights to support your growth.

During the School Day Offerings

Requires staff to ask administraion for approval before signing up.

Staff attending are responsible for submitting their absence in Frontline as a professional development day and requesting a substitute if needed.

After School Offerings (Certificated)	After School Offerings (Classified)
No site approval is required for certificated staff. Compensated at the non-instructional hourly rate	Classified staff do not need approval if the training does not put them into overtime. Classified staff does need approval from administration if the training exceeds 8 hours in a workday, or 40 hours in a week. Compensated at the hourly rate

Certificated

Staff

Admin approval is required for daytime sessions but not for after-school sessions. Certificated staff will be paid the non-instructional rate for after school sessions. Teachers are required to secure a sub for their class.

Staff

Classified staff will be paid their hourly rate if they attend a session after school; admin approval required if exceeding 40 hours in a week or over 8 hours in a day.

Magic Student: How to Get the Most Out of Student Rooms on MagicSchool

Interested in learning how to get students engaged with tools on MagicSchool? Join us for the Magic Student PD where you will see how to leverage the power of student tools to support students in all subject areas. You will also learn about how MagicSchool protects student data and provides a safe platform for students to engage with AI.

Writing for Success

Part 4: Narrative

Teaching writing can be challenging, but you don't have to navigate it alone! In this four-part professional learning series, Session 4 will focus on a deep dive into narrative writing, including what students are expected to produce if assigned narrative on the perforamce task (3-8th grade only). Each session equips teachers with practical tools, streamlined graphic organizers, and student-friendly scaffolds designed to support skill development and build students' confidence as effective writers.

In this edWebinar, you'll hear how state and district leaders and Digital Promise's Center for Learner Pathway Innovations are working in partnership with postsecondary institutions, industry, and communities to build flexible, credentialed career pathway experiences that cultivate learner agency, well-being, and economic mobility.

Building Early Literacy Skills for Nonverbal Children: Every Voice Counts

Attendees will explore how to support early reading skills through multisensory approaches, visual supports, and intentional instructional routines. The session will highlight strategies for developing phonological awareness, letter knowledge, and early comprehension without relying solely on verbal responses. Educators will learn how to use modeling, assistive communication systems, hands-on materials, and structured supports to increase participation and independence.

Building Thinking Classrooms in K-12 Mathematics

Explore Toolkits #1-4 to foster active learning, engagement, and mathematical thinking in any classroom setting · Experience both non-curricular and curricular math tasks as a learner · Practice effective lesson closing and consolidation through selecting, sequencing, and seeding · Gain valuable resources whether you are beginning your journey with BTC or continuing to sustain and grow your BTC practices

Getting Reading Right

5-Day Summer Bootcamp

Looking to strengthen your literacy knowledge and instructional expertise? Literacy leaders at SCOE are excited to offer the popular Getting Reading Right (GRR) professional learning series in a Bootcamp format during Summer 2026! GRR builds educator knowledge of the science of reading and supports the implementation of research-based literacy practices. Instead of 10 sessions spread throughout the school year, participants can complete the full GRR series in one intensive week.

Participants may earn two university credits for an additional $100 fee through the University of La Verne upon completion.
